Several partners from Willkie Farr & Gallagher will participate as speakers at the Southern District of Texas 2026 Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference, according to an April 15 announcement. The event, hosted by the Houston Bar Association, will take place in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 28 and 29.

The conference brings together legal professionals and judges to discuss important topics related to bankruptcy law. It is considered a significant gathering for those practicing in the Southern District of Texas.

Debra Sinclair is scheduled to join a panel on April 28 titled “Who’s Really in Control? The Role of Special Committees and Independent Directors in Complex Chapter 11.” James Burbage will speak later that day on “Sunnova Redux – From the Trenches to the Confirmation Order,” while Jennifer Hardy will address “The Rise of Strategic Chapter 11s: Distinguishing Reorganization from Litigation Tactics in Mass Torts.” Hardy also serves as Co-Chair of the Planning Committee for this year’s conference. Willkie partner Paul Labov and associate Matt Waldrep are also expected to attend.

On April 29, Christopher DiPompeo will host a session called “SCOTUS Behind the Scenes: Inside Scoop from Former Clerks.” Later that morning, Hardy will moderate a panel featuring bankruptcy judges.

Registration information for those interested in attending is available through the Houston Bar Association.
