Illinois urges seniors to apply for tax deferral program by March 1

The Illinois Department of Revenue has issued a reminder to eligible taxpayers about the Senior Citizens Real Estate Tax Deferral Program. This initiative enables qualified seniors to defer some or all of their property taxes and special assessment payments on their primary homes. Seniors who require help with their property taxes must apply for the program by March 1, 2023.
