Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Willard Ice Building in Springfield on November 13. The event took place in the building's lobby.

The Willard Ice Building, located at 101 W. Jefferson in downtown Springfield, serves as IDOR's headquarters. It covers more than 750,000 square feet and spans three city blocks. Construction of this six-story, open-atrium building began in 1980 and was completed in 1984. It stands out as a unique feature in Springfield's skyline.

The building is named after Willard Ice (1915-1980), an attorney who worked for IDOR for nearly 35 years. He also served briefly as the agency's director during a gubernatorial transition.
