FOIA Request to Cary Police Department Regarding Arrest Records from 2018 to Present on December 12, 2024.

As a part of our ongoing efforts at Prairie State Wire to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) for access to specific arrest records.

Our request includes all arrests made by the Cary Police Department from January 1, 2018, up until the present date. The specific fields requested include the arrestee's name, date of arrest, gender, race, date of birth, and the crime committed.

Access to these public records is crucial for us at Prairie State Wire in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information as a media organization, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as per standard practices.

We await the department's response and remain committed to bringing you timely and factual reports on local government affairs.
