Jeffery M. Smith, 69, of Crete, IL, passed away on December 12, 2024, at his home due to complications with Leukemia. He worked as a highway maintenance worker for the Illinois Department of Transportation. Jeffery enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and treasured time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tanya Smith nee Huston, and his children: Amy Nusko, Carey Dunmore, Justin Smith, Caitlin Secrest, and Sarah Naese. Jeffery was a cherished grandfather to Logan, Nickolas, Gavin, Jack, Wesley, Dean, Khalessi, Wyatt, Reid, Tessa, Austin, and Kaia. He was a caring brother to Karen Roberts and the late Larry Smith, and the son of the late Lee and Jean Smith. Jeffery also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Tinley Park, IL. Interment will be private.
