Jeanne Ives said, "If they can't vote for this bill, then you know it's all virtue signaling to a small radical minority," in response to Illinois Democrats voting against the Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act. Ives made the statement in a January 14 post on X, following the U.S. House's passage of the bill.
"Every IL Dem is so Woke and Stupid that they voted against The Protecting Women and Girls Sports Act, preferring that our girls get hurt and lose positions, scholarships, and awards to confused guys that think they are girls," said Ives, Founder. "These people are so dishonest and cannot be trusted. If they can't vote for this bill, then you know its all virtue signaling to a small radical minority. Ask CA how that worked out for them."
The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, introduced on January 3, 2025, aims to amend the Education Amendments of 1972 by defining sex in athletics based solely on an individual’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth for compliance with Title IX. The bill is outlined in House Resolution 28 of the 119th Congress and has been referred to the House Committee on Education and Workforce.

According to CNN, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act with a vote of 218-206 on January 14, 2025. One Democrat representative voted "present," while two Democrats supported the bill. In the previous Congress, it passed with a vote of 219-203 but was not taken up by the Senate. Introduced by Representative Greg Steube from Florida, the bill prohibits transgender women and girls from competing on male sports teams and mandates that educational institutions receiving federal funds must not allow males to participate in women’s or girls’ athletic programs. Violating this rule would constitute a violation of Title IX’s prohibition against sex discrimination.
In her post on X, Ives shared a screenshot highlighting several Democratic Representatives who voted against House Resolution 28. These representatives include Jonathan Jackson, Robin Kelly, Delia Ramirez, Chuy Garcia, Mike Quigley, Sean Casten, Danny Davis, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Jan Schakowsky, Brad Schneider, Bill Foster, Nicole (Nikki) Budzinski, Lauren Underwood, and Eric Sorenson.
Ives is a former Illinois State Representative who served six years representing Illinois House District 42. She ran for governor in 2018 and sought election to represent Illinois’ 6th Congressional District in 2020.
