Florence Louise Johnson, 94, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at her home in Plainfield. Born on January 2, 1931, in Columbus Junction, Iowa, she was a member of the Canterbury East neighborhood in Carillon of Plainfield for the past 24 years. Johnson was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bulls, attending or streaming games regularly. She was a faithful member of New Life Lutheran Church in Bolingbrook, participating in services, bible study, and building lasting friendships. Johnson enjoyed playing Pinochle with neighbors in her community. Survived by her children Kristina (Jeff) Pyla and Eric (Mary) Johnson, grandchildren Halie (Caleb) Bishop, Devin Pyla, Matthew Johnson, Alexander Johnson, and Christopher Johnson, brother Ron Cutkomp, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Roland G. Johnson, parents Russel and Velma (nee Boulton) Cutkomp, and brothers Roger, Craig, and Kenneth Cutkomp. Johnson will lie in state on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at New Life Lutheran Church, Bolingbrook. She will be privately laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood alongside her husband.
