Telmer “Bud” Groset | Anderson Memorial Home & Heartland Cremation Services

Telmer "Bud" Groset, 97, of Plainfield, formerly of Orland Park and Chicago's Roseland Neighborhood, passed away on January 8, 2025. Graduating from Chicago Hirsch High School's Class of 1945, Bud served as a United States Army World War II Veteran. He retired as a Machinist (IAM) after 50 years of service with the City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation and Cook County Highway Department. Bud enjoyed woodworking, electrical, and gas repairs and was a Cub Scout Leader for St. Catherine. He was the husband of LaVerne nee Pertile for 76 years and father to Douglas, Laurel, and John Groset. Bud leaves behind grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield. The funeral will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2025, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary the Immaculate Parish in Plainfield, followed by interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
