• Bruhn, Christina (2025-01): “Dev of Guidelines for Implementation of DECA to Spanish Speaking Families”
The purpose of the study is to resolve challenges related to implementation of the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment Forms with Spanish-speaking families. The surveys proposed will provide empirical evidence as to specifically which questions on the DECA screeners believe families have the most difficulties with; why; and what alternative wording approaches screeners believe would improve understanding. The knowledge to be gained could improve the experience of implementation of the DECA for both families and screeners, and the result could be improvement of the validity of the data collected.
• Fuller, Tamara (2023-08 Amend 1): “Bias-Free Child Removal Pilot Program – Implicit Bias Survey Amendment”
The evaluation team would like to submit an amendment to the proposed work (which has not yet started). The updates include:
• added survey that assesses staff perceptions and beliefs about implicit biases in child welfare,
• new start and end dates, and
• an increase in the number of staff involved in the evaluation to reflect the addition of the staff survey.
