Rafael Castañeda, age 72, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, in Berwyn, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to his craft and deep love for his family. Born on December 11, 1952, in Zamora, Michoacán, Mexico, Rafael was known for his precision as a master watchmaker and his entrepreneurial spirit in Berwyn.

With over 40 years of experience, Rafael's skilled hands meticulously worked on timepieces, earning him a reputation for excellence and establishing lasting friendships with his clients. Alongside his craftsmanship, Rafael's passion for cars shone brightly, making him a respected figure at various auto exhibitions where he shared his expertise and admiration for automotive artistry.

Rafael's journey was shared with his adoring wife, Norma, and their children Rafael Jr., Adrian (Gabriela), Norma (David), Susanna (Ray), and Enrique (Kirstin). His legacy continues through his granddaughters Lilianna and Audrey, who hold dear the memories of their affectionate grandfather.

As family and friends gather to bid farewell, Rafael's absence will be deeply felt. Yet, his legacy of love, resilience, and passion for life will endure. Visitation to honor Rafael is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois. The Funeral Service and Time of Remembrance will be held the following day, followed by Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
