Kathleen “Kathe” Filan-Dauber passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. She was the cherished wife of John Dauber for 56 years. Kathe was a devoted mother to Tim Dauber (Laura), Sean Dauber (Heather), Brian Dauber (Kelly), and Kate Flaherty. She was the daughter of the late Catherine and Patrick Filan and the sister of John Filan (Sally), the late Patricia Trudelle, and the late Joseph Filan.

Kathe was a dear sister-in-law to Jeri Ann Dauber, and Alice Denoyer (the late Bill) and the late William Dauber. She was a treasured grandmother to James, Ian, Lauren, Jake, Aidan, Hung-En, Jack, Ting, Song, and Vivian. Kathe was also a beloved cousin and friend to many.

Born in 1943, Kathe grew up with her parents who immigrated from Ireland to Chicago. She received her education from various institutions, culminating at Moraine Valley Community College. Known for her infectious spirit and ability to form meaningful connections, Kathe's laughter and warmth touched the hearts of those around her. Her love for music and travel created lasting memories for her family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Memorial Mass on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Orland Hills, IL. The interment will be a private ceremony.
