Garrick "Gary" Kasper, Sr., 74, from Kankakee, passed away on April 20, 2025. He began his career in 1974, eventually rising to the position of Fire Chief in Country Club Hills before retiring in 2010. Gary then served as Fire Chief in the city of Benton, IL, ending his more than 40-year career there. Known for his passion for the fire service, Gary was involved in various committees, boards, and advisory roles. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time on the lake with loved ones. Gary is survived by his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and stepchildren. The visitation will be held on April 25, 2025, at Brady-Gill Funeral Home in Tinley Park, with a Fire Department walk-through and service. Interment will be held privately.
