Roy Lee Walker Sr., Beloved Veteran and Patriarch, Dies at 84

Roy Lee Walker Sr., aged 84, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, after battling COPD. He was a distinguished veteran who served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Roy is survived by his children, Tammy Alberico and Roy Lee Walker Jr., grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation and a Masonic service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Tinley Park, Illinois. The following day, closing prayers will be offered at the funeral home before proceeding to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for full military honors.

Roy will be laid to rest on April 15, 2025, the same day he entered the Army in 1960.
