FOIA Request to Kane County Recorder Regarding Property Sales Records/Transactions on May 2, 2025.

We, as representatives of Prairie State Wire, have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Kane County Recorder in Illinois. Our request seeks access to a comprehensive list of all properties and their most recent sales. We are particularly interested in obtaining all available metadata related to these transactions. Specifically, we have requested details such as the Recorded Instrument ID, Transaction Date, Transaction Amount, Transaction Type, Buyer Name, and Seller Name.

As members of the media dedicated to delivering accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is crucial for us. This information will enable us to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency for the public.
