FOIA Request to Winnebago County Treasurer's Office Regarding Property Tax Records 2024 - Present on May 12, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, Prairie State Wire has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Winnebago County Treasurer's Office. We are seeking access to property tax records for the years 2024 and anything available for 2025. Specifically, we have requested information including Parcel ID, Year, Tax Value, and Assessed Value for properties within the county.
Our role as a media organization is crucial in gathering and reporting news that holds public institutions accountable. Access to these public records will enable us to provide comprehensive coverage and ensure transparency for the residents of Illinois. Given our responsibility in disseminating this information, we have also requested a fee waiver under our status as media professionals.
