ORLAND PARK, IL - Phyllis M. Bistyak (nee Wojciechowicz), 85, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that touched the lives of all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of James J. Bistyak for 50 years.

Phyllis was a devoted mother to Helene (Bob) Ferry, Kelly Smart, William (Gina) Zoetvelt, and Lynette (Russell) Simmons. She was a cherished grandmother to Katie (Mike) Matusky, Robert (Stephanie) and Kelly Ferry, Paige Smart, Mary Kate (Alvin) Singleton, Jacquelyn, Victoria, William Zoetvelt, Aime Lynn (Michael) Baker, Nicolette, Russell, Lena, Riley, and Arabella Simmons. Her great-grandchildren Ellie, Noah, and Oliver brought endless joy into her life.

She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Lee Wojciechowicz, and late Mary (nee O'Grady) and Murray Zierler. Phyllis is survived by her brother Leo (Mary) Wojciechowicz and fondly remembered the late Sr. Helen Wojciechowicz, PHJC. She was a kind aunt to Randy Wojciechowicz and sister-in-law to Gregory (Doris) Bistyak, with loving memories of the late Arthur Bistyak.

Phyllis's life was interwoven with love for family and community. She was the previous Commodore’s wife of the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club, where her warmth and generosity made her an esteemed member of the community.

Visitors are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL, proceeding to St. Michael Church for Mass at 9:30 a.m.
