Dorothy Rose Basta (née Laskowski), 85, passed away on June 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Known as the loving wife of John Basta for 45 years, Dorothy was the daughter of John and Lottie Laskowski, and the step-daughter of Eleonore Laskowski. She cherished her role as daughter-in-law to John and Olga Basta, and maintained a heartwarming relationship with her brothers Bob, Leonard, and sister-in-law Elaine.

As an aunt, Dorothy's love extended to her nieces and nephews and their children, creating lasting bonds that were treasured deeply. She maintained a 65-year friendship with her Lourdes High School alumni, Class of 1958, showcasing her commitment to relationships. Dorothy was a dedicated member of the St. Michael Parish Contemporary Ensemble Choir for over 10 years and served as a Human Resources Associate for 35 years at Sun Chemical.

With a passion for bowling and participation in national tournaments, Dorothy’s love for the Chicago White Sox was unrivaled. She attended numerous games, showing her unwavering support for her favorite team. Despite enduring health challenges, Dorothy's infectious smile and loving personality brought joy to everyone she encountered.

A visitation will be held on June 16 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM, with a funeral service on June 17 at Thornridge Funeral Home, followed by Mass at St. Michael Church and interment at Resurrection Mausoleum.

To honor Dorothy R. Basta, memorial trees can be planted in her memory through the Sympathy Store.
