Joyce Johnson | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais

Joyce Johnson, aged 86, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025. Born on April 19, 1939, in Kankakee to Frank and Frances Salkeld, Joyce was a well-known figure in the community. She graduated from St. Patrick Grade School and St. Patrick High School and worked at Salkeld and Sons Sporting Goods in the Toys & Trophy Department. Joyce also volunteered as a coach at St. Patrick's grade school and Riverside Medical Center, showcasing her dedication to helping others. She was a passionate supporter of Bishop McNamara ball games.

Joyce is survived by her three grandchildren, Blake Pierson, Schuyler Pierson, and Cheyenne Pierson, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kathleen Meszaros, two brothers Duane and Bill, their wives, and two family members.

A visitation and funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Bourbonnais. Cremation rites will follow the Mass, with inurnment scheduled for a later date at All Saints Mausoleum in Bourbonnais.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bishop McNamara Athletics.
