Richard A. Zielke, aged 93, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was known for his passion for fishing, enjoying the tranquility it brought him. In his youth, he found joy in hobbies such as hunting, playing tennis, and reading. Richard also had a love for gardening, watching war movies and westerns, activities that brought him relaxation and pleasure.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa (nee Pogorzelski) Zielke, and his beloved children: Michael (Cheryl) Zielke, Joyce (Gary) Janssen, and Sue (Glen) Hoffmann. Richard is also remembered by his treasured grandchildren: Melanie, Nicholas, Lauren (Chad), Madelyn (Carter), Joseph, Ashley, and Andrew; as well as his cherished great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Vivian, Avery, Rocco, Lennox, and Raelynn. Preceding him in death are his dear son Steve (Ernest Martin) Zielke and his parents Arthur and Phyllis (nee Rylko) Zielke.

A memorial visitation honoring Richard's life will be held at Anderson Memorial Home, located at 21131 W Renwick Rd, Plainfield IL 60544 on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org.
