Elizabeth “Lizzy” Hribar, aged 68, of Manhattan, previously of Mokena, passed away on July 13, 2025. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Mark Hribar, her sons Joshua and Eric Hribar, and niece Carolyn Watson. Lizzy's parents Charles “Cubby” and Wanda Moews, and brother Charles “Chuck” Moews have preceded her in death.

Lizzy progressed from her schooling at St. Barbara High School to a successful career spanning over four decades in the federal sector. Her dedication led her to excel in various roles at the USDA, culminating in her retirement as a law enforcement support specialist with top-tiered pay.

Known for her spirited nature, Lizzy met Mark at his fire department, and their enduring love story began. Their marriage blessed them with two sons, whom she placed above all else. Sporty and outgoing, Lizzy engaged in both softball leagues and bowling, where she even bowled a perfect 300, a moment of enormous pride. Fond of Bunco nights with friends, Lizzy relished capturing memories, earning the nickname “picture queen” for her photographic zeal. Despite her love for travel, Lizzy’s collections of grandfather clocks, Seraphim angels, and jewelry spoke to her nostalgic nature.

Lizzy will be dearly missed as a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Private burial for immediate family only. Condolences and arrangements through Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, IL.
