Patrick J. Flaherty, a distinguished figure in the Chicago Fire Department and a beloved member of the community, passed away at 70 years old. He was the retired Battalion Chief of CFD and the proud owner of P.J. Flaherty’s in Evergreen Park, IL. Patrick is survived by his devoted wife Lori, loving daughters Ellen, Katie, and Megan, and cherished grandchildren Everett, Tessa, Sloane, Callum, and Warren.

Patrick was the son of the late Michael and Eileen Flaherty, and the loving sibling of Michael, Maureen, John, Katie, Steve, Eileen, and Tom. Patrick was a founding member of the ROMEOS and had a passion for gardening. He was particularly known for his gardening skills as a master gardener.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from Curley Funeral Home to St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Ignite the Spirit.

Patrick J. Flaherty will be remembered for his dedicated service, love for his family, and passion for gardening. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit that will be dearly missed.
