Gerald Tysiak, known affectionately as Gerry, was born on October 5, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to Alexander and Anna Tysiak. As the youngest of seven siblings, he grew up surrounded by love and camaraderie. Gerry proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1971 before embarking on a nearly 50-year career in banking and finance, where he built lasting relationships within the community.

On September 4, 1976, Gerry married Kathleen Ann Dorich, with whom he shared a beautiful union of 48 years. Together, they raised three children - Jacob Steven, Michael Thomas, and Michelle Therese. Gerry's kindness and generosity extended beyond his immediate family, embracing many as his own. Known for his selfless nature, Gerry dedicated himself to helping others, offering his time, energy, and love unconditionally.

Gerry found joy in golfing, fishing, grilling, and smoking meats. An avid sports enthusiast, he passionately supported the Bears and the Blackhawks but found true delight in cheering on his children at hockey games and cross-country meets. His exuberant presence and energetic "Siren" were staples at every event, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Kathleen, his children, siblings Frances and Arthur, brother-in-law Steven Dorich, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whom he held dear. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings Charles, Rita, Bernard, and James.

In honoring Gerry's memory, contributions to Special Olympics Illinois and the Alzheimer's Association are welcomed in lieu of flowers.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge, with Chapel Prayers on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Military Honors will be rendered at his graveside service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.

Gerry's legacy of love, selflessness, and zest for life will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched.
