TINLEY PARK - Robert Francis Baader, an accomplished educator and devoted family man, passed away at the age of 87 at Hinsdale Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Geraldine Ruksza Baader, and his children: Robert Francis Jr, Mary Katherine (Thomas) Kaley, Cecilia Ann (Jake) McFarland, and Brian Andrew (Sofia) Baader. Baader is also remembered by his ten grandchildren and multiple nephews and nieces.

A dedicated educator, Baader spent 44 years teaching at Brother Rice High School (BRHS), where he served as the It's Academic Team Advisor, Chairman of the Social Studies Department, and Assistant Principal. His contributions to the field of education were recognized through honors such as the Teacher of the Year award and his induction into the BRHS Hall of Fame. Additionally, he was an Adjunct Professor at the College of St. Francis in Joliet.

In addition to his work in education, Baader was an active member of various organizations, including the Sons of the American Revolution and the Prairie Scooners chapter of WIT. As a history enthusiast and camping enthusiast, he shared his passions with his family for generations.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lawn Funeral Home in Tinley Park, IL, with the funeral service taking place on Thursday at 10:45 a.m. at St. George Church. Interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery.
