Ted Dabrowski, a candidate for Governor of Illinois, recently engaged with residents across the state following his campaign announcement. He expressed a commitment to improving conditions in Illinois by implementing policies aimed at enhancing freedom and prosperity for its citizens if elected.
"We have a powerful Governorship and there is much I can do to cut expenses and deliver better results by simply running our agencies better," said Dabrowski. "We must, and can, do better and in doing so provide tax relief to businesses and families."
Over the weekend, Dabrowski made several campaign stops throughout Illinois. On Saturday morning, he addressed the Wheeling Township Republicans and later attended an event with the Republican Young Republicans, hosted by Jennifer Davis, a candidate for the 8th Congressional District. That evening, he participated in a vigil in Naperville for conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. On Sunday, Dabrowski traveled to Alpha, Illinois, where he was scheduled to speak at State Representative Dan Swanson’s annual Oktoberfest gathering on Swanson’s farm.
According to WTTW, before embarking on his weekend tour across Wheeling Township, Naperville, and Alpha, Dabrowski delivered his formal campaign announcement speech. He explained his decision to enter the race after 15 years in public policy research. In his speech, he discussed how systemic inertia and political self-interest in Illinois motivated him to transition from analysis to action. "Without a willingness to put in the political fight," Dabrowski said, "the best ideas can get buried before they ever see the light." The weekend's events were intended to amplify this message among Republican grassroots networks and local constituencies.
The Sangamon Reporter noted that Dabrowski’s weekend appearances reinforced themes introduced during his campaign launch. He criticized Governor Pritzker’s record and positioned himself as a reform candidate focused on "moral clarity" and grassroots coalition-building. Highlighting his policy background at Wirepoints and Illinois Policy Institute, Dabrowski said: "What's unique about my candidacy is that it’s not built upon my professional success… but on coalitions of support based on years of my policy work." His visits across Illinois aim to strengthen this foundation through direct voter engagement.
Dabrowski brings over three decades of experience in international finance and domestic policy leadership. He spent 16 years in senior financial roles, including as Head of Corporate Banking at Citibank in Poland. There he advised the government on economic liberalization and managed multi-billion-dollar Treasury portfolios in Poland and Mexico. After returning to the U.S., Dabrowski became Vice President of Policy at the Illinois Policy Institute and later served as President of Wirepoints, a nonprofit focused on Illinois’ economy and government. His research has been cited by national outlets such as The Wall Street Journal. He holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago, an MBA in finance from the Wharton School, and a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech.
