Carrie Mendoza, a candidate for lieutenant governor of Illinois, has expressed her support for President Trump's leadership. She feels reassured by his efforts against antisemitism and pro-Hamas sympathizers. This statement was made in a campaign press release.

"I am grateful for the leadership of President Trump and his moral courage," said Mendoza. "As a mother with three sons in college, I am comforted by his fight against antisemitism and the terrorist sympathizers who celebrate Hamas' barbarism."

According to the press release, President Trump is portrayed as a consistent advocate for peace and diplomacy across various international conflicts. He has supported peace efforts involving nations such as Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, and Armenia and Azerbaijan. His actions were recognized by Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, who reportedly dedicated her Nobel Peace Prize to him, crediting his actions for helping Venezuela reach "a threshold of freedom." Across the political spectrum, figures like Cenk Uygur, Sen. Tim Kaine, Gov. Josh Shapiro, and Rahm Emanuel have acknowledged Trump's role in facilitating significant peace or hostage-release agreements.

In contrast, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has been accused of perpetuating divisive rhetoric and failing to address key issues within his state. According to the press release, Pritzker ignores anti-Semitism on college campuses and prioritizes undocumented individuals over law-abiding residents. He has also been criticized for remaining silent about politically motivated violence, including attacks on law enforcement and embassy staff. Meanwhile, Trump has been praised for protecting American citizens, advocating for campus safety, and supporting families affected by crimes committed by individuals residing in the U.S. illegally.

Dr. Carrie Mendoza is an emergency medicine physician with approximately 25 years of experience across urban, suburban, and rural hospitals. A Chicago-area native, she emphasizes improving patient care, public safety, and principled leadership. Mendoza states that she and her husband are raising three sons in an observant Jewish home—values that guide her public service aspirations. She is running as Ted Dabrowski’s lieutenant governor pick in the 2026 Illinois GOP contest.
