Walter Alan Kampwirth, known as Al, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, at the age of 77, after bravely battling Alzheimer's disease. Al, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, spent 48 years of his career at Sears, forming lasting relationships.

In his personal life, Al found joy in fishing, bowling, sharing family stories, and reminiscing about his racing days. His protective nature and selfless spirit endeared him to his loved ones, always prioritizing their well-being above his own.

Preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Kampwirth, parents, sisters, and granddaughter, Al is survived by his daughters Liz, Heidi, Katie, grandchildren Allison, Melissa, Madeline, Jacob, Margaret, and Claire, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL, with a service to follow. Interment will be private. Donations to a charity of choice in his honor are welcomed. Al's legacy of strength, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
