The Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association (ILDCCA) has endorsed billionaire J.B. Pritzker for governor, which should come as no surprise, according to Illinois Republican Party Spokesman Aaron DeGroot.
"ILDCCA President Doug House is taking orders from (House Speaker Michael) Madigan – that's why ... the endorsement of J.B. Pritzker comes as no surprise," DeGroot said in a press release. "For years, Madigan has used the ILDCCA to funnel campaign cash to his allies and vulnerable House Democrats. Now, Madigan is using the ILDCCA to bestow Pritzker with the Democratic nomination for governor.”
Madigan has also received the support of the Cook County Democrats, the largest countywide Democratic organization in Illinois, as well as various unions and the Illinois branch of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.

The Illinois GOP has accused the ILDCCA and Madigan of illicit acts, including funneling campaign money to Madigan and his supporters. It also has accused House of persuading fellow Democrats to “play nice” and not rock the boat and upset Madigan.
