Campaign spending: AG candidate Harold raised $758,878 ahead of primary victory

Erika Harold and Gary Grasso each raised just $2 per vote cast for them in the attorney general primary race, according to the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform.

In all, the Republican AG race raised $1.3 million – 60 percent of which was raised for Harold. 

The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform analyzed how much candidates in the most contested state races raised per vote they received in the Illinois Primary on March 20. The analysis is based on contributions disclosures between Jan. 1, 2017, and March 20. 

In the Democratic primary, voters selected Kwame Raoul to face Harold in November. Raoul raised $8 per vote – 25 percent of the $11.8 million raised in the race. Scott Drury and Pat Quinn each raised 17 percent of the total. Drury raised $21 per vote.
