Rauner ad calls Madigan, Pritzker 'an unholy union'

A new campaign ad from Gov. Bruce Rauner claims that the combination of House Speaker Mike Madigan (D-Chicago) and Democratic gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker in power would have a disastrous impact on Illinois.

Titled “Unholy Union,” the ad resembles that of a wedding ceremony with an officiant saying “Repeat after me. I, Mike Madigan, take you, J.B. Pritzker, as my unlawful partner in destruction, to raise property taxes, corrupt government and bankrupt Illinois' future.”

The voiceover in the ad calls Madigan and Pritzker “an unholy union Illinois can’t afford.”

J.B. Pritzker

Corruption has surrounded both Madigan and Pritzker with Madigan earning millions off people’s taxes reductions, and Pritzker earning hundreds of thousands in tax breaks by removing toilets from his mansion so it would be considered “uninhabitable.”

Rauner is seeking re-election in the upcoming general election. His challengers include Democrat Pritzker, Libertarian Grayson “Kash” Jackson and Conservative Sam McCann.
