Congressional candidate Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) argues that U.S. Rep. Sean Casten (D-Downers Grove) so hastily throwing his support behind an impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump tells you everything you need to know about her potential opponent's style of politics.
"Sean Casten began pursuing impeachment before the transcript of President Trump’s July call with Ukraine President Zelensky was released, and before intel committees had obtained the whistleblower complaint,” Ives said in a press release. “Casten is a bitter partisan, uninterested in evidence and indifferent to policy solutions.”
Ives, who served six years as a state representative in the 42nd District, is poised to take on Casten in the 6th Congressional District in 2020. She intimated that his style of governing is emblematic of Democrats across the country.

“Democrats in Congress have no serious governing agenda,” Ives said. “They have no workable ideas to solve the problems with which most Americans are faced. So they are using a fanatical obsession with impeachment as cover.”
As for the voters of the 6th District, Ives said she believes they can see right through the lunacy.
"The families and businesses of the 6th District are reasonable, responsible people,” Ives said. “They deserve a representative who will work to increase opportunity for them and their children, and who is focused on solving problems rather than exacerbating them. Sean Casten is only interested in obstructing his political opponents and stirring up animosity. He should be a TV pundit, not a member of Congress.”
