IDOL: Nominations Still Needed for Governor's Health and Safety Award

Award

Illinois Department of Labor issued the following announcement on Jan. 17.

The deadline - January 31 - is fast approaching to nominate someone for the 2020 Governor's Award for Health and Safety.

 

The prestigious health and safety award will be presented during the 29th Annual Downstate Illinois Occupational Safety & Health Day (DIOSH) on March 4, 2020 in Peoria. The award recognizes a person who has made significant contributions to occupational health and/or safety.

You can nominate someone - or yourself - for the Governor's award through January 31 by filling out the nomination form, which is available at www.dioshday.com  The Illinois Department of Labor is a cosponsor of DIOSH Day, which will be held at the Peoria Civic Center.

"The Illinois Department of Labor works closely with Illinois businesses to promote the health and safety of workers. I know many businesses have health and safety advocates who are deserving of the Governor's award. I urge you to consider nominating them for this recognition," said IDOL director Michael Kleinik.

DIOSH Day is for employers, employees, and all others interested in safety and health. Experts in the field will present numerous sessions on the most current issues in safety and health today. The Illinois Department of Labor, other governmental agencies and private vendors also will provide information and materials in a large exhibition area.
