Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is fed up with local governments that won’t follow his rules and is about to send everyone home if they don’t wise up.

"If things don’t take a turn, some form of a mandatory stay-at-home order is all that will be left," Pritzker said today.

Pritzker was speaking in reference to the growing number of municipalities and counties who have decided to go their own route rather than enforce his executive orders.

"What is it going to take to get you to be a part of the solution?" Pritzker said.

Prtizker's comments come days after his daughter was spotted in Chicago flaunting his orders.

A growing number of restaurants across the state have resisted Prtizker’s orders to close their dining rooms.

While local governments have the ability to enforce codes in a variety of ways, including pulling liquor licenses, many have decided to take a more cautious approach and some have decided not to enforce Pritzker’s orders.

Moline recently offered its businesses a $5,000 incentive to follow the governor’s orders rather than try any enforcement action.

Sangamon County opted to create countywide Covid mitigation strategies rather than those Pritzker has dialed up and down on the Illinois business world for the past eight months.

The COVID Tracking Project notes the increase in positive cases reflects an increase in testing, not necessarily of infection spread and that the mitigation tactics taken do more harm than good.
