Going forward, former House candidate Mark Curran wonders how the Illinois Republican Party can win.

“Jim Durkin refused to support me against his close friend Dick Durbin for U.S. Senate,” Curran told the Prairie State Wire

“If your state representative supports Jim Durkin than your state representative needs a primary in 2022. Jim Durkin is our Mike Madigan and anyone supporting Jim Durkin needs to go," said Curran.

Curran’s criticism of Durkin doesn’t end there, pointing to the way he has so quickly called for President Donald Trump to concede in his re-election bid against democrat Joe Biden.

“This is why the Illinois Republican Party is the worst in the country...They tell us we don’t need to investigate why almost every republican in Illinois got clobbered. Let’s move along. We will be listing the names of any Illinois republicans that vote for the continued leadership of Jim Durkin," said Curran.

Curran, who served 12 years as Lake County sheriff, narrowly lost his run against Durbin earlier this month with 40% of the vote. He regrets that his discipline and tenacity won’t be available to Illinois residents at an overall critical time for the state.

“So many politicians get to Washington and lose their connection with constituents," said Curran, "Durbin is the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate. His primary objective has become appeasing other Democrats as citizens and businesses get lost in the mix.”

Throughout his campaign, Curran urged voters to change the direction of the state, including what he sees as an assault on small business owners during the age of COVID-19 by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, by moving to elect more republicans.

“The only way to stop this Democrat-led siege against small businesses in Illinois is to stop electing anti-business Democrats,” he told the Prairie State Wire

“Sen. Durbin (D-Illinois) is Pritzker’s anti-business henchman. He has said nothing advocating for the backbone of our state," said Curran.
