A COVID-19 advisor to the Pritzker administration received a vaccine today.
Dr. Emily Landon, an associate medical professor at the University of Chicago, received her vaccine today.
Landon, 43, is an infectious disease specialist. She has spoken regularly in tandem with Pritzker Administration officials.
If she were to catch COVID-19 she would only stand a 0.2 percent chance of death.
“Ending the year on a high note! So grateful to get my first #CovidVaccine this morning
@UChicagoMed” she tweeted.
Recently, several U.S. House members were criticized for using the “continuity of government” exception to jump to the head of the line and receive the COVID-19 vaccine first.
Properly allocating the vaccine has been an issue of concern.
In particular, many are calling for those most at risk to be prioritized in the wake of the deaths of 33 veterans from an outbreak at the LaSalle Veterans' Home.
Landon lives at 1111 S Wabash Ave #3004 in Chicago.
