Reform for Illinois recently issued the following announcement on May 24

Republicans in the Illinois Senate have introduced a package of ethics reforms that could make significant changes to the status quo in Springfield.

While we do not agree with everything in the  bill, SB1350, it offers  meaningful improvements in key areas over the leading Democratic proposal, SB4,

These include stronger measures to slow the "revolving door" of legislators becoming lobbyists, prevent Assembly members from working as paid lobbyists at other levels of government, and enhance ethics oversight over lawmakers through improvements to the Legislative Ethics Commission and the Legislative Inspector General's office.

We call on Republicans and Democrats in the General Assembly to work together to pass strong ethics reforms that can begin restoring the public's trust in state government.
