APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION: Dr. Margaret Scotellaro made a motion to approve the minutes August 24, 2021.
Robin Albritton seconded the motion and a unanimous vote from the remaining board members carried the motion.
FOLLOW UP
William Schneider. Income and Housing Support Experiments and Child Neglect.
Tami followed up with the researcher. He will need to find someone to support his research in order for him to obtain the data that he is requesting. Question was raised as to whether he could possibly pay for someone to assist in obtaining and cutting the data that he is requesting. In the funding request, he did not include CFRC in his original request. He can potentially amend the proposal and ask for additional funding and include CFRC in his proposal. Can he restructure his line items in his funding proposal to ask for someone’s time to assist in obtaining the data he is requesting.
Tami will go back to the researcher to let him know about obtaining Deputy approval for a data sharing agreement.
MOTION: Proposal tabled until responses to questions raised by the board have been responded to. NEW PROPOSALS
Chequita Brown. Foster Care Alumni’s Visibility on Campus.
Researcher is going to self-recruit. She is asking for the Office of Education and Transition Services to send an email or assistance in recruitment. She is looking for 10-15 people to interview about campus support for foster care alumni. She is looking at both four year universities and community colleges.
Needs University of Illinois IRB approval.
MOTION: Robin LaSota motioned to approve the proposal.
Kim Mann seconded the proposed motion and a unanimous vote from the remaining board members carried the motion.
Ka Ho Brian Chor. Implementation of DCFS Therapeutic Foster Care PILOT.
Wants to talk to staff at Lutheran Social Services of Illinois and DCFS. Why would he give workers at LSSI a gift card? Please check with LSSI around restrictions that they may have about their staff receiving renumeration apart from their job.
MOTION: Kim Mann motioned to approve the proposal, pending the results of the restriction request.
Tami Fuller seconded the proposed motion and a unanimous vote from the remaining board members carried the motion.
OTHER:
Data Sharing Agreements. Someone in the Department, at the Deputy Level at least. Anmarie would draft the data sharing agreement. Whose responsibility would that be that they approve that they can get a data sharing agreement. Who does the Director want to handle that role. If they are approving the individual to get the data, who is in charge of handling the data mining to send it to them. Anmarie will go through the IT department, to figure out if the data is easily accessible or does a different portal need to be developed for them to get that data. Getting data internally is delayed, so do we make priority for external entities asking for data. Before a data sharing agreement is drafted, IRB approval needs to be received.
Next meeting re-scheduled for October 26, 2021 at 2 PM.
The meeting adjourned at 3:00 pm.
