Gov. J.B. Pritzker has refused to denounce Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's use of extraordinary powers as part of the Emergencies Act to beat back vaccine choice advocates political opponents.

Pritzker refused to denounce Trudeau’s power grab when contacted by Prairie State Wire.

Those powers are to be limited to when Canada faces an existential threat. It appears Trudeau has found that threat in an angry convoy of truckers fed up with vaccine and mask mandates.

After protesting trucks blocked traffic in Ottawa for weeks, Trudeau invoked Emergency Powers to deal with the situation.

The truckers wanted to meet with Trudeau to address the challenges posed by the requirement for a vaccine to enter the border.

Trudeau refused to meet with the protestors, dismissing their demands.

Citizens' rights campaigners have slammed Trudeau's decision to utilize Emergency Powers to silence political opponents.

In his advocacy to crush his political opponents, Trudeau has relied on a series of defamatory remarks comparing the truckers to Nazis and others, including the descendant of Holocaust camp survivors.

Despite the trucker protest having been broken up, Trudeau is clinging to emergency powers.

The Canadian legislature later backed up Trudeau’s power grab on a vote despite the trucker protest having been broken up.

In the move, Trudeau noted “a couple more days” of using the Emergencies Act, but that was followed up by a vote by Canada’s legislature asking up Trudeau’s claim.

“We don’t want to keep it in place a single day longer than is necessary,” Trudeau said, according to the Detroit News. “Even though the blockades are lifted across border openings right now, even though things seem to be resolving very well in Ottawa, this state of emergency is not over.”

Many have drawn comparisons between Trudeau and Pritzker for their heavy-handed approach to COVID.

Prtizker is currently appealing a ruling to the Illinois State Supreme Court to see schoolchildren masked indefinitely despite having suffered losses in two lower courts.

Prtizker has also noted his support for more strict COVID protocols despite a continually manageable and less-deadly version of the virus.

In fact, local Democrats appear to be following Trudeau’s lead in establishing extraordinary powers.

Legislation sponsored by State Rep. Deb Conroy (D-Villa Park) – HB 4640 – has sought to throw violators of COVID protocols into detention camps.

The measure has been roundly criticized -- outside of Democrat stalwarts and Conroy-adorees -- for its authoritarian tone.

Conroy’s bill, which has received support from the state’s Democrats, would allow the state to "isolate or quarantine persons who are unable or unwilling to receive vaccines, medications or other treatments."

Conroy’s bill would give local health departments and state politicians formal legal authority to fully control the behavior of any individuals who don't follow their COVID-19 restrictions and rules, including keeping people isolated and under police guard.
