IV. Timeline for Exit Criteria & State-Determined Action Decision

V. Operationalizing “No Longer Comprehensive/Targeted” Non-normatively1

a. Required by the U.S. Department of Education

b. Options for consideration:

i. Improvement in overall index score

ii. Improvement in raw performance or indicator score on

1. Key indicators

2. Indicators with weight equal to some percentage (e.g. >= 30, 40, 50 percent)

3. A minimum number of indicators (e.g. 4 out of 8 scored indicators)

4. A combination of options 1, 2, and 3

5. Any of options 1, 2, or 3

iii. Improvement in rank position of some number

iv. Some combination of options i, ii, and iii

v. Any of options i, ii, or iii

VI. Exit Criteria Discussion Continued …

a. Should there be any criteria for exiting status beyond no longer having a comprehensive or targeted designation?

i. Yes or no (undecided)

b. If yes, what should those criteria be? Currently, there are two additional criteria:

i. Trajectory of growth for both high- and low-achieving students

ii. Plan for sustainability

iii. Other

a. Should there be differentiated expectations of and supports for schools that have been in support status for four-plus years but not yet exited?

i. Yes or no

b. If yes, how many groups should there be?

i. Two – Those with a trajectory of growth, those without.

ii. Three – Those with a trajectory of growth, those with mixed results, those with declining results.

iii. Other.

c. What will the requirements be for schools in these groups (as determined by outcome of items VI.a. and VI.b.)?

d. What will the minimum supports be for schools in these groups (as determined by outcome of items VI.a. and VI.b)?
