In a Facebook live post, Republican gubernatorial candidate and state Sen. Darren Bailey discussed the upcoming election and what he sees in Illinois' future.

In the Facebook post, Bailey stressed the importance of turning out to the polls to cast ballots.

"Five days left! VOTE!!!" Bailey said on Facebook. "Have the conversation with your friends, family, co workers, and church family! This is how we win."

On the ticket with Bailey is Stephanie Trussell, who has been on the campaign trail in recent days throughout the state. Bailey said in the Facebook video that supporters can visit the campaign's site to see where they will be stopping in the final days of the campaign.

In the Facebook video, Bailey said that it is not too late to register to vote and that supporters should ensure those within their circle are registered.

"Make sure they're educated and informed to vote, and then ultimately make sure that you follow up, that they actually do vote next Tuesday the 28th," Bailey said in the video. "If it's because we've got a bad government that's not representing us well, if it's because we're frustrated with election integrity — every bit of this is up to us to change. Sign up for election judges and poll watchers, and you can do that right here on our web page."

The candidate recently participated in a debate at the College of DuPage, Bailey's website said.
