Illinois Department of Children and Family Services SJR47 Task Force Funding met Sept. 26.

1. Roll Call-Lucretia Newman, DCFS Legislative Affairs
2. Review notes from 8/24/22 meeting
3. DCFS and/or GOMB comments on 8/24/22 meeting
a. ForDCFS and/or GOMB: what is the current funding formula for CAC’s & CASA’s (Illinois Statewide & Cook County) and who decides that funding formula?
b. For DCFS only, how did Cook County CASA & Illinois Statewide CASA split appropriations (ex: walk us through the timeline, funding sources (including historical overview), and is this a sustainable and fair model?
4. CAC: respond with what issues they face with the current funding mechanism and their potential solutions – DCFS: response. Max of 10 minutes each.
5. CASA (IL Statewide & Cook County): respond with what issues they face with the current mechanism and their potential solutions – DCFS: response. Max of 10 minutes each.
