Need help with your income tax returns?
Columbia Public Library is hosting the AARP Foundation Tax Aide program that offers free tax preparation for low– to moderate– income taxpayers. Participants can schedule to drop off their documentation on Monday’s and pick up the following Thursday morning.
Call the library at 618-281-4237 to schedule a tax appointment with AARP tax professionals at Columbia Public Library located on 106 North Metter Avenue, Columbia, IL 62236.
Once you have scheduled, please follow the AARP guidelines:
- If joint return, both taxpayers need to be present for drop off and pick up.
- Bring with you the following documentation:
- Photo I.D. required.
- Social Security or last year’s tax return is required.
Tax Help Disclaimer: All AARP Tax-Aide Program volunteers are trained to input and submit tax information to the IRS. These volunteers have no access to your personal information or submitted documents after April 15th. If any issue arises with your taxes after April 15th, you will need to communicate with the IRS or a tax professional to resolve your situation.
