The Illinois Conservation Foundation is currently seeking nominations for the 2024 Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame class. According to the foundation, this prestigious recognition aims to honor individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service and dedication to enhancing conservation efforts and outdoor recreational opportunities in Illinois.

As stated by the Illinois Conservation Foundation, "Some inductees touched the lives of thousands by promoting fishing, hunting, conservation, and safety education. Others spearheaded efforts to preserve or enhance fish and wildlife habitat and protect and restore Illinois' lakes and rivers. Some inductees are national and international leaders in conservation or advocates for outdoor heritage traditions. All have led by personal example and serve as role models for future generations of conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts."

Nominees selected for this honor will have the opportunity to be officially inducted into the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame at the annual Illinois Conservation Foundation Outdoor Hall of Fame Gala scheduled for next spring.

Individuals interested in submitting nominations are encouraged to do so by completing and submitting the official Hall of Fame nomination form by the deadline of July 15, 2024. Those seeking further information can reach out to the Illinois Conservation Foundation via email at info@ilconservation.org or by phone at 217-785-2003. Established in 1995 as an IRS 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, the Illinois Conservation Foundation was created to provide support for the programs of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
