William Lee joins IDHHC team as Executive I - Interpreter Coordinator

The Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission has announced the hiring of William Lee as Executive I - Interpreter Coordinator.

William Lee brings over 30 years of experience as a sign language interpreter. He holds an Illinois Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf License, Master Proficiency Level, and both the RID National Interpreter Certification (NIC) and IL BEI Master Certification. Throughout his career, Lee has worked as a freelance interpreter, staff interpreter, and video relay interpreter in various settings including education, medical, business, nonprofit, theatrical, and mental health environments.

Lee has also served on the Illinois Board of Interpreters and Illinois Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (IRID) boards. Additionally, he has taught interpreting. With a degree in computer programming, he enjoys developing websites in his spare time. He also values spending time with his spouse, children, and grandchildren.

William Lee will commence his new role on June 17, 2024.
