Illinois DNR opens applications for Pheasant Fund and Habitat Fund grants

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is currently accepting grant applications for the State Pheasant Fund Special Funds Grant Program and the Illinois Habitat Fund Special Funds Grant Program through August 1.

The Pheasant Fund program aims to enhance pheasant habitat through projects developed by nonprofit organizations and governmental entities. Similarly, the Habitat Fund program seeks to improve game and non-game wildlife habitats through initiatives led by nonprofit organizations and governmental bodies. Funding for both programs is derived from the sale of Habitat Stamps to sportsmen and sportswomen.

Entities interested in applying for either grant must be registered and current in the state's Grant Accountability and Transparency Act grantee portal. All applications will be accepted online via the Amplifund online portal:

- Pheasant Fund grant applications

- Habitat Fund grant applications
