Jeanne Ives reacted to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, stating, "More questions for the Secret Service who haven't answered all the questions from the Butler, PA attempt." She made this statement in a September 15 post on X.

"Another assassination attempt on Trump," said Ives, Founder. "More questions for the Secret Service who haven't answered all the questions from the Butler, PA attempt."

In her post, Ives shared a link to a Breitbart article that included a report separate from the assassination attempt. According to the report, "US intelligence officials recently briefed Trump’s campaign about new indications that Iran was planning to escalate attacks on the former president and those around him," multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN in an embedded tweet from CNN personality Kaitlan Collins.

Breitbart reported that at 9:40 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 15, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the State of Florida would conduct its own investigation. The article also included quotes from an interview with the Daily Mail, indicating that the "would-be assassin" confirmed his father does indeed "hate" Donald Trump.

Newsweek reported that Steve Witkoff was golfing with Trump when the attempted assassination occurred. Witkoff told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that Secret Service agents fired on the suspected gunman. "It was pretty awesome to watch them, and they were heroic because their lives were on the line; they were exposed. They had the president secured, in my estimation, because I was five yards away from him, maybe after the first shot, certainly after the second shot," Witkoff said.

ABC News compiled a timeline of events leading up to and following the incident. Records show that Ryan Wesley Routh’s phone was in the area of the tree line at Trump International Golf Club at 1:59 a.m. Routh’s rifle was spotted in the tree line at 1:31 p.m., and Secret Service agents fired 4-6 rounds before Routh fled. Routh had not fired any shots. He was detained at 2:14 p.m., and just before 4 p.m., former President Donald Trump confirmed he was safe in a campaign fundraising email.

Jeanne Ives is a former Illinois State Representative who served six years representing Illinois House District 42. She ran for governor in 2018 and sought election to represent Illinois’ 6th Congressional District in 2020.
