The Illinois State Fair will welcome back REO Speedwagon to the Grandstand stage on August 15. The band, originating from the University of Illinois in the late 1960s, has maintained a presence in rock music for over fifty years.
Known for hits such as "I Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore" and "Keep On Loving You," as well as classics like "Ridin' the Storm Out" and "Keep Pushin," REO Speedwagon promises a performance featuring songs that have appealed to multiple generations.
"REO Speedwagon always bring everything they have to the stage," stated Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark. She added, "In the over 50 years they have been together, there has not been a year where REO Speedwagon didn't perform live. This will be one of those performances where we will be able to hear the crowd singing along throughout the whole fairgrounds."
This upcoming show marks their seventh headlining appearance at the fair, with their last performance in 2013. Ticket sales for this event are yet to be announced.
Ticket prices for the August 15 concert range from $33 to $100 depending on seating preferences, with an additional Stage Side Party ticket available for $30.
The Illinois State Fair is scheduled from August 10 through August 20 in Springfield. Updates and announcements can be followed via social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
