The Illinois State Fair is set to feature Nelly as the headliner on the final night of its 2023 event. The acclaimed rapper will perform at the Grandstand on Sunday, August 20. Known for his success in the music industry since 2000, Nelly's work includes a country album that reached Billboard's Top Ten Country Album charts in 2021.
Nelly will be joined by Grammy-winning artist Ashanti and Grammy-nominated rapper Ja Rule. Ashanti has built a career over two decades with six studio albums and multiple awards, including a Grammy and eight Billboard Awards. Ja Rule's debut single was a hit on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the start of his successful career.
Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark stated, "We are excited to welcome Nelly along with Ashanti and Ja Rule to the Illinois State Fair Grandstand stage this summer." She added that their extensive catalog of hits appeals to fans from various generations.
Tickets for Nelly's performance will be available starting Friday, May 5 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Other concerts scheduled include Old Dominion on August 11, REO Speedwagon on August 15, Alter Bridge on August 16, and Maren Morris on August 19.
