The Illinois State Fair has announced that the award-winning band Old Dominion will headline the Illinois Lottery stage on Friday, August 11th. The band, known for their success in country music, recently celebrated a fifth consecutive win for "Vocal Group of the Year" at the 2022 CMA Awards and received nominations for "Album of the Year."
Old Dominion gained prominence in 2014 and has since achieved eight number one singles. In 2021, they earned two GRAMMY nominations for their song "Some People Do." Their fourth studio album was released at the end of 2021, featuring a hit single that was recognized as one of the "100 Best Songs of 2021" and certified Platinum.
Their latest project includes the lead single "Memory Lane," which is performing well on country radio. It became the #1 most added song at country radio early in 2023, a feat not seen since Taylor Swift's achievement in 2010.
Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager, stated: "Old Dominion on the Illinois Lottery Grandstand Stage is a great way to wrap up Agriculture Day at the Illinois State Fair." She noted that fans can expect to hear both old favorites and new hits from the band during their performance.
The band's appearance is part of their sold-out No Bad Vibes Tour across North America. Ticket sales for announced shows at the fair will be available soon.
Other performances scheduled include REO Speedwagon on August 15th, Alter Bridge with Mammoth WVH on August 16th, and Maren Morris on August 19th. The fair runs from August 10 through August 20 in Springfield.
