The Illinois State Fair has introduced a new promotion aimed at enhancing the experience for attendees of the 2023 event. The fair, scheduled to take place from August 10 to August 20 in Springfield, will offer a special parking voucher to visitors on County Fairs and Horse Racing Day, Thursday, August 10. Those who pay for parking on this day will receive a voucher for free parking on either August 15, 16, or 17.

Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager, stated: "Our goal is to offer an affordable way for families to attend the Illinois State Fair." She highlighted that while the voucher can be used on any one of the three specified days, it provides significant savings on "Twosday."

"Twosday," themed for Tuesday, August 15, will feature $2 admission fees for adults and seniors. In support of this initiative, North American Midway Entertainment (NAME), the fair's carnival operator, will offer rides at $2 each. This discount applies alongside honoring all Mega Passes and Jumbo Passes purchased before and during the fair.

The promotion coincides with performances by REO Speedwagon, Alter Bridge, and Tim McGraw at the Grandstand concerts. Tickets remain available through Ticketmaster or directly from the Illinois State Fair Box Office.

In addition to entertainment acts and rides, other events include the Sale of Champions on Wednesday, August 16 inside the Coliseum. This live auction celebrates youth exhibitors' efforts and supports programs like Illinois 4-H and FFA.

Attendees can also look forward to numerous hours of live music across nine free entertainment stages, diverse shows, vendor stalls offering culinary delights and products, as well as educational opportunities.
