Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Director John J. Kim has announced the agency's exhibit for the 2023 Illinois State Fair, themed "Clean Energy - A Bright Future!" The exhibit is situated in Conservation World and aims to educate visitors on various aspects of clean energy.

The exhibit offers interactive games and educational materials for children and adults. Children can engage in activities like "Putting for Clean Energy," a miniature golf game featuring solar panels and windmills. Other activities include a ball toss, an energy wheel with related questions, a word search, and an unscramble board. Younger visitors will also have access to coloring tables.

"The Illinois EPA enjoys exhibiting at the Illinois State Fair each year as it provides an opportunity to share information on environmental protection and stewardship for the annual fair visitors," said Director Kim. He added that this year's exhibit allows kids to play games while families learn about energy efficiency and clean energy.

For adults, educational signs are placed throughout the exhibit to provide information on energy topics. The display includes details about the Illinois EPA's educational curricula with educators' kits focused on energy units. Adults visiting the fair can also enter a drawing to win one of two rain barrels offered by the Illinois EPA.

The Conservation World exhibit is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. throughout the ten days of this year's fair. It is located just south of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Building.
